This lovely girl brought me out for dinner at Roast located at One Rochester, together with her lovely gift of La Sardina Lomo Camera. It was a pity that I didn’t bring my camera with me, but we had a great time. Above we ordered were the Red wine braised Angus short ribs with creamy Paris mashed potato and horseradish together with Slow braised lamb shank with olive, orange, carrot puree and french bean fritters. Remember how I exclaimed I love french beans? I still do.
PK’s mashed potato was divine and the Angus short ribs with a light taste of red wine was soft and amazing. The taste just sets apart in your mouth and lingers. I loved it. I loved the lamb shank as well, equally soft - indeed slow braised with the organic puree. The portions felt just right, and we had space for desserts after!
We had the Raspberry lychee rose pannacotta, lychee lemon compote and the 1-Caramel signature deconstructed strawberry shortcake. It came deconstructed, really. It reminded me of the birthday cake that Fang, Joyce and Justin bought for me on my birthday - It was definitely yummy. So the next time at Roast again, I’ll make sure I remember my camera because I definitely felt handicapped without it, not forgetting the amazing service we had. I had a lovely week.
