Krabi, a place that house special memories

It's been almost 3 years since we last visited Krabi back in October 2015, that was when Ju first tailored his very first shirt in preparation for work, and when we were slightly skinner. We made the decision to head to Krabi again this year in 2018, earlier in the year in January when FlyScoot had cheap flights! We bought both our tickets for less than $200, and off we went to the place that stole our hearts.

We checked into Ao Nang Cliff Beach Resort this time again, only to see that it has expanded and has grown so much in terms of its marketing, it's lodging, its facilities and it brought back very good memories since the last time we've been there. Read the review the last time that we've been there! It now has an infinity pool that overlooks the Ao Nang cliff, and Ao Nang beach, such beau!

We headed up to the pool one morning after breakfast to soak up some morning sun, and it was such peace. There was no-one, and we had undisrupted and an unparalleled view of the Ao Nang beauty. The next evening, we went up for a dip to catch the setting sun. It was nothing short of amazing.

They have also upgraded us to a Grand Deluxe room, slightly bigger and nicer than the previous that we have stayed in! Thank you for such great hospitality :) Nothing has changed though; they still provide you umbrellas, beach mats, slippers, everything that you'd need to pack for a beach holiday but all provided for you!

We took a stroll along the beach, rented our scooters for the rest of the trip (Now that I am legal to ride, I had my first pillion this trip!) and headed over to De Marco Fashion to have his suits and shirts tailored, for work and for the wedding. Boy was I impressed with their service. It's located within a pretty resort, and you get to enjoy the pretty scenic views of the beach too, while waiting! There are also beach side massage and manicure if the measurements are taking a bit too long for the ladies :P

Not forgetting my daily dose of 99 Baht Mojitos (or any other cocktail drink you'll order for that matter), and the super chill environment. I have started to miss the 200 baht massages, the 70 baht espresso and 99 baht Mojitos that I cannot get enough of, my vice. We should always take a break once in a while, to bask in a little sun, and to absorb a little of this thing called life. I cannot get enough. And I'm sure once you've been to Krabi, you cannot get enough of it too!

In short, we visited Krabi this time with friends kept close to our hearts, showed them an island that we loved and hopefully they'll love, went island hopping in long tail boats, rode scooters to Krabi Town night market, dined at The Hilltop Krabi with a magnificent view during sunset, and took a day trip out to Krabi's natural emerald pool. This trip, though short, was eventful and filled with blessed memories, forged with different people.

Thank you to my husband, for doing this with me. Thank you for sharing these memories.

Life is.

Shinji by Kanesaka

Eumi came back to Singapore, and unlike Singapore, US doesn't have anything with better sushi that doesn't burn a hole in your wallet. She wanted to try Shinji by Kanesaka すし道真次, apparently an awarded Michelin star restaurant in Singapore. Having just returned from Japan, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. But it is definitely pricier than your usual sushi-joints of course.

Eumi made a reservation for both of us, and we dined at about 8 with lesser crowd, which was great. The chef could focus on making your sushi and it wasn't too noisy. I ordered the Sushi Edomae (S$220); while Eumi ordered the Omakase Shin (S$450) - pretty affordable as compared to her paying US$1,200 for a decent Omakase in US.

If you'd ask me, I really loved the sushi. They tasted so fresh and light - and literally melted in my mouth. Would I pay S$220 for a meal like this? I would, for special occasions but not all the time. The taste buds will appreciate that break and pairing it with sake will not be missed!

On another occasion, Rch and I got to try Fat Cow with Entertainer's 1-for-1 coupon. We were supposed to order a glass of sake, and ended up with a 750ml bottle for both to share, and overspent on what was supposed to be a 1-for-1. These temptations are real guys :P

Left my heart in Germany (Instagram Favourites)

Documenting a few of the better places that we have dined at in Germany - Pepenero (for your quick Italian fix), Eataly (for a decent Italian fix), Cafe Tomaselli (with one of the best chocolate cakes in Salzburg), Salzbur and St. Peter Stiftskulinarium - featuring one of the oldest restaurant in Salzburg dated back in the centuries.

Heart-felt.
